6/22/11

Wednesday I ate lunch and then was at the ball field for the rest of the day.  At 3pm I was supposed to help with a baseball academy camp, but I was not sure if it would get rained out or not.  Instead of buying a train ticket and having to buy one to just come straight back, Roman dropped me off around 1pm on his way back to work after his lunch break.  While I was waiting, it rained a few times, but at least is stopped in time for the academy to practice.

Around 2:15, Tony, a coach for the academy, and Rick, a man from California that helps coach European teams during the summer, showed up and I was able to find out how the clinic would work.  There were about thirty kids, both boys and girls, that showed up and we did baserunning, throwing, outfield, infield, pitching, catching, and then they scrimmaged.  I worked with the outfielders luckily.  It was fun!

Right after we finished, it started to pour.  I went with Tony, his son, Rick, and Sandro, another helper, to get a drink five minutes from the field.  I just had Shorley because we had practice at seven.  Tony dropped me back off at the field and there were six of us who were able to hit in the batting cage for about an hour and a half.  It was productive, but hopefully it does not rain on Friday.

I have slowly been trying to get more Swiss German lessons before I go to bed, so hopefully they will help!
