6/20/11

Monday I was able to work on the flyer for the American party and upload more pictures.  Nadja was able to eat lunch with us and then she gave me a lesson on how to say the time in German.  They use quarter after, half til, and quarter til, so it is not too tough, as long as I remember when it is before the hour and when it is after the hour.

Next, I helped sort through cherries again.  I like doing that because now I have a few things that I know how to do to help without having to be told.  I still eat some of the cherries, but the Lehmanns do too so that makes me feel better haha

Before practice, Cony made Birchermuesli, which was a type of yogurt, cream, strawberry, cereal mix and I loved it!  I had three helpings, it was sooo good!  Christof told me that he did not like it because it was "too healthy" and we had a good laugh about that, but I told him it tastes like dessert to me.  I have to get the recipe for it.

Roman gave me a ride to practice, which again meant that I drove.  I am getting better, except at 1st gear on hills.  At practice, we had twelve girls there so that was a good turn out.  We did a lot of fielding, six hitting stations, and then Jrene, Chanti, and I pitched for a little while at the end.  I also drove home when Roman picked me up, and I did not stall once!  It is funny when I drive because whenever there is a chance that I have to make a complete stop and then have to start again, which is usually when the car will stall, he will say aloud, "I hope you have to stop here."  It made me nervous the first few days, but now I just laugh.

Back at the Lehmanns', Tango & Cash was on, in German, and Roman and I discussed how similar Kurt Russell and Patrick Swayze look.  I also asked many times what people were saying because I want to get better at understanding the language here.  At least I am making some progress.
